Did you know that you speak Viking?

Old Norse Language

The Vikings spoke a language called Old Norse. This language is extinct today, but has had a huge influence on everyday English. So as an English speaker, you are using plenty of Viking words every day.

English words with Old Norse Origin

Here are some examples of English words with Old Norse Origin:

Húsbóndi – Husband
Kalla – To call, or cry out for someone.
Uggligr – Ugly

Check out my latest YouTube-video where I explain the history of the Germanic languages, and why this influence took place.
